Animal Free Research UK
Our mission is to play a leading role in funding high-calibre, animal replacement research, to communicate this research and to advance and develop widespread support for this endeavour
Our vision is a world where all animal experiments are no longer required and have been replaced by non-animal methods which are human-relevant.
Our values are that excellence in biomedical research can, and should be, pursued without animal experiments because they are ethically unjustified and scientifically unsatisfactory.

Cats Protection
Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity and since 1927 we have helped many cats. We find loving new homes for cats, many of which are stray or been abandoned, run neutering programmes and educate the public on cat welfare issues.
Over the past five years we have helped around one million cats through our network of 260 volunteer-run branches, 29 adoption centres and one homing centre. Every year we help tens of thousands of cats and offer advice and care information through our national Helpline and websites, while our neutering programmes help prevent unwanted litters being born and becoming the abandoned cats of tomorrow.
Our vision is a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs.

We seek to find loving homes for thousands of unwanted dogs, whilst practical campaigns such as our microchipping and neutering programmes tackle the root of the stray dog problem.

Mid Antrim Animal Sanctuary
Since we opened in April 1996 we have found caring homes for an average of 20 animals each week (over 7000 to date). They come from many sources; some are abandoned, others come to us because their owners have to go into care, some due to marital breakups, moving abroad, and others are unclaimed animals from pounds throughout Northern Ireland.
We accept as many as possible, but as we have a strict NO KILL policy, our kennels are always full – over 70 dogs and 60 cats, as well as unwanted litters of puppies and kittens and various other small animals. They are secure in the sanctuary until another home is found.
